As one of film makers, and also as one of people who are interested in moving images, I have doubted the projecting style performed in the fixed space like a movie theater. Everyone turns to the same direction, sitting on a chair, and being enforced to go out when the show time finishes. The limited appreciation method in the limited space. But, in the space like a club, very much satisfying image / sound system cannot be desired. I think there are many people except me who feel "Can't we enjoy the image on a large screen more freely?"
In this exhibition, we were specially particular about the texture of all the factors (moving images, sounds, space). About the moving images, we were particular about whether the color and operation which the artist wanted to express have projected on the screen correctly. As solution to that, I think that the overwhelming visual experience was provided by projecting the image to 4 huge screen with the projector which have a capacity of 3700 lumen. About the sound, we realized the 5.1ch audio environment using speakers of the best quality of the world. In this system, visitors can feel wrapped by the beautiful sound wherever they stand in the hall. About the space, we took care of the planning so that visitors could enjoy the image wherever they are in the hall. Moreover, I thought the space not the place merely to "appreciate" images but the place itself being enjoyable and comfortable. So, we set inside of a 4 screen a sofa like a living room and outside living bluegrass.
I hope the visitors to bring the exhibition itself as one experience including tactile and smell sense.
